British artist Jane Hunt's four-track EP is hauntingly beautiful.

So fresh, and so stimulating, the fusion of violin strings with a hauntingly beautiful voice makes for the perfect combination in the four-track self-titled Jane Hunt EP. Hunt's modern classical music boasts of new sounds and airy bursts. Just as the soundtrack moves the movie, Hunts command and delicate love for her songs transcends into a stimulating audio experience. Her songs are romantic; they are powerful; they soar.

The first track "Vasene" never feels like the violin is in 'shrill' mode. The violin dances along the ethereal voice, in a way much like a Celtic angel. This song is reminiscent of " Cancao do Mar " by Dulce Pontes (moviegoers might recognize this from the Richard Gere-Edward North film Primal Fear). "Vasene" is missing the Spanish flavor, of course, but nonetheless, the mood is breathtaking. (Bonus points for readers that knew Dulce Pontes is actually Portuguese)

Standout Track is "Melia Dream"

"Melia Dream" (track two) is equally serene. Her approach is never hurried or pressured in this song. Track three, "Flying High" starts out drastically different - the acoustic guitar strikes each note, as the electric strings skate along an echoing bubble of air, the imagery of ice melting somehow comes to mind. Listeners will certainly insert their own story, but the mind travels along the soothing track like a bicycle down a sunny path. Hunt takes the listener to a calm place. "Melia Dream" garners this writer's favorite track award.

Expecting something more hot-to-trot with a title like "Sahara" the track actually starts out a bit dark. The violin weeps in this somber dance. This song felt more woodsy than the previous three tracks. As it lingers, the mood does tremble itself into this electric - New Age meets Mediterranean meets African journey. This song feels full; the listener is flush with fused robust electrical and classical sounds.

Overall CD Review is A+

Overall this Jane Hunt's self-titled EP gains a solid A+. Anyone that enjoys watching skating and the witnessing the marriage of music put to dance, will enjoy this EP. Frankly, anyone that wants to listen to something that puts their mind free to 'dance' to its own journey, Jane Hunt can certainly be the captain. Known as the "Violin Venus," Jane Hunt hypnotizes listeners with her classically-trained talents and soaring arrangements. Fusing classical strings with electric rock, and even New Age like whispering sounds, surely all music fans will find something they like with Jane Hunt's self-titled EP.
